SPIDER VEINS, RETICULAR VEINS & VARICOSE VEINS
Our Process: Consultation First, Treatment Second
Successful cosmetic vein treatment starts with understanding what is causing the veins—not simply injecting every vein that is visible.
Your first appointment is a physician consultation. We review your medical and vein history, examine the areas that concern you, determine whether your veins are appropriate for cosmetic treatment, and develop a personalized treatment plan.
Treatment is typically scheduled separately from the initial consultation. We believe the assessment and treatment plan are important parts of achieving a thoughtful, safe result.
Spider veins frequently require a series of treatments rather than a single session. The number of sessions varies depending on the extent of the veins, underlying feeder veins, individual response and your cosmetic goals.
Cosmetic or Medical? We Help You Start in the Right Place.
Not every visible vein should begin in the Cosmetic Vein Clinic.
If you have large or bulging varicose veins, extensive spider veins, leg aching, heaviness, fatigue, swelling, night cramps, restless legs, skin changes or other symptoms of venous disease, we recommend beginning with our Medical Vein Clinic.
Spider and varicose veins can sometimes be associated with underlying venous reflux. In these cases, a vascular ultrasound may be appropriate to evaluate the deeper source of the problem before treating what is visible on the surface.
Our Medical Vein Clinic accepts many insurance plans for medically necessary evaluation and treatment. The Cosmetic Vein Clinic is self-pay and does not accept insurance for cosmetic treatment.
Meet Amanda Dao, DO
Amanda Dao, DO is a board-certified general surgeon and vein specialist with fellowship training in cosmetic surgery. She sees patients in our Cosmetic Vein Clinic with a particular focus on spider veins and cosmetic vein treatment.
Dr. Dao combines her surgical training with an aesthetic approach to patient care. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach to spider veins, she evaluates each patient's vein pattern, concerns and cosmetic goals before developing an individualized treatment plan.
Her philosophy is centered on helping patients feel more confident while maintaining a physician-led approach to safety, appropriate patient selection and realistic expectations.
In addition to cosmetic vein care, Dr. Dao's surgical and cosmetic training allows her to evaluate and treat selected other concerns, including lipomas, benign moles and other minor surgical conditions.
Why Choose Our Cosmetic Vein Clinic?
You don't have to choose between medical expertise and cosmetic results.
The Cosmetic Vein Clinic brings together the aesthetic experience patients want with the medical expertise of a practice that has specialized in vein care since 2010.
Our goal isn't simply to treat the veins you can see. It is to determine why they are there, whether cosmetic treatment is appropriate, and which treatment is most likely to help you achieve the result you're looking for.
